5th National Youth Conference “Act with a Plan”

The Youth Board of Cyprus is organising the 5th National Youth Conference titled “Act with a Plan” as its main objective is to  to support and encourage the active participation of young people in decision making at all levels.

The National Youth Conference is the biggest participatory consultation event between youth and the state! It will be held at the Presidential Palace, on Tuesday, November 19 at 09:30, under the auspices of his Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides.

The Conference is the final step of the whole participatory process that has been followed throughout 2024 for the development of the 2nd National Youth Strategy 2030. The new National Youth Strategy will define the government’s vision for the young people and it will be co-designed with young people. That is why, the National Υouth Strategy is the major milestone in the youth policy and the National Year of Youth 2024.

The Conference will bring together young people and their representatives from all over Cyprus who will have the opportunity to get informed on what has been achieved in the youth sector within the framework of the National Year of Youth, identify gaps and make proposals to address the challenges, turning them into opportunities. They will have the opportunity to take part in design-thinking workshops and discuss with policy makers, exchange ideas and opinions with their peers and come up with practical solutions to implement the objectives of the National Youth Strategy that they have set themselves.

The following topics will be addressed at the workshops of the Conference:

  • Green & Digital Development
  • Education & Training
  • Employment & Entrepreneurship
  • Physical & Mental Health
  • Inclusion & Social Justice
  • Active Participation
  • Connecting the EU with Youth

The Conference will be conducted in Greek, with translation into English. Sign language interpretation will also be provided. Transportation by bus will also be arranged for participants that don’t live in Nicosia.
