The European Voluntary Service runs under the Kee Action 1 mobility for young people of the “Erasmus+” Program. This program offers young people (aged 17-30 years old) the chance to offer their services on a voluntary basis (without salary), for a period of 2-12 months in a local public entity or an oversea non-governmental organisation that is related to issues of interest such as the environment, culture, sport and social service.
The EVS does not financially burden the volunteer. The programme covers the accomodation costs, the travel costs, part of the airline tickets cost, a symbolic amount is also granted every month for basic personal expenses and finally it is full board covered. In addition the below are provided to the volunteer: free language courses on the language that is used in the host organisation, enrollment in a special insurance plan of Erasmus+, and also E.E. suggests that the volunteer should also be a holder of the European Health Card. Finally, any expenses for visa or vaccinations are covered by the Program.
